Director's Bio

Jay Tryall was released from his vows as Brother Futon Fouette. This occured after the Bishop discovered Brother Futon had used his habit as a parachute to jump from a jetliner onto a burning building, where he single-handedly saved 300 pounds of uncut cocaine from the flames, giving rise to his favorite expression: "Come fly with me!" Since then, as Jay Tryall, he has directed Steel Magnolias, The Robber Bridegroom, A... My Name is Alice, Always... Patsy Cline, Noises Off!, Into the Woods, and Jeffery. Jay's other credits include choreographing such shows as The Music Man, Godspell, The Wiz, and Little Shop of Horrors, and stage managing Cabaret, The Exonerated, Hansel and Gretel, Fiddler on the Roof, and West Side Story. Showers in The Diviners, Gaston in Picasso and the Lapin Agile, Harry the Horse in Guys and Dolls, Mr. Bumble in Oliver!, Ken in Rumors, Teddy in Arsenic and Old Lace, Mr. Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors, and various other roles in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Dearly Departed, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Godspell, Damn Yankees, Crazy for You, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Since release from his stint in rehab, many from the Order have seen Jay working with such theatres as Conyers/Rockdale Council for the Arts, The Olde Town Players, The Depot Players, Onstage Atlanta, Jack in the Black Box Theatre, Out of Hand Theatre, Neighborhood Playhouse, UGA's Red and Black Theatre, Town and Gown Theatre, Arts Association in Newton County, The New Depot Players, The Little Rome Theatre, Berry College Theatre, and Salem, Oregon's Pinnacle Theatre.
